Welcome to the Harlan Fire Department's new web page. We appreciate your interest in our department and we hope you find this site informative and useful.
The Harlan Fire Department is located in the beautiful mountains of southeastern Kentucky and serves the City of Harlan and surrounding county areas. In 2002, we moved into our new 6000 square foot station, complete with training room, offices, shower facilities, laundry, and a large, four bay garage for our apparatus. In 2005, we added a new Pierce Contender pumper to our fleet, and, in 2006, added a new Firovac tanker/tender. During 2007, we also added a large, new cascade air system.
Our staff of paid and volunteer firefighters is ready to respond to an assortment of emergencies. We train weekly on a variety of subjects to keep our firefighters up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures. We maintain an on-going commercial building inspection program and present fire prevention programs to people of all ages. We also offer station tours, CPR and first-aid classes on request.
We believe in helping the public stay informed and ready in the event of an emergency and welcome inquiries about fire prevention and safety. The fire station, located at 114 North Main Street, is here to serve you. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Stop by and visit, or give us a call at (606) 573-4130.
Have a safe day!
